Sooo Pinoy: A Pot of Flavors

Inspiring Filipino Foods that I slowly  learned to cook in my humble kitchen
How could I forget the cooking lessons and moral values of what my dear Lola imposed me when I was still a little kid. From putting a fire in our wooden stove to tasting the flavors of our home-cooked specialties like pinakbet, kare-kare, sinigang na baboy and kaldereta. What I treasured most is the good thoughts that all happened around our dining table. From sharing foods and helping each other in the kitchen and in giving thanks to God for every meal. Remembering those moments are just an iceberg of my scrapbook for  my passion of Filipino foods because beyond eating in my home, I am also exposed to food adventures. I was given a chance to explore my palate to the different culture, in order to learn more and appreciates our Filipino extraordinary foods.

Visiting a venue with authentic Filipino dishes is an A plus to me. That's why, I had a food trip with my family at Gasera Restaurant. The venue is a home to behold, it's like eating at your own comfort home. I like the the powerful taste of  their kilaweng kambing and  the sweetness version of pork adobo. I can say that their healthy pinakbet is surprisingly as good as mine..Lol!
Hmmm, more pot to go... why not? my taste bud is craving for more flavors! that's why I can't help myself but visiting back the halo-halo de iloko Restaurant, the place that always remind me of the words "magpaka sarap ka muna!", indeed a Filipino food escapades. Aside from their famous heavenly delectable halo-halo, the okoy with vinegar sauce is also one of their specialty. The crispiness of their lechon kawali is among my favorite. By the way, your are not only eating Filipino cuisines here but the place is like a little musuem that showcases artifacts and as you can see in my photo, there is a wooden stove that reminds me of my Lola, indeed a style of  sooo Pinoy!

Sooo Pinoy: Philippines Delightful Treats

Where ever I am, my taste buds always craves for Filipino cuisine. What ever I crave, still looking for local delicacies. When ever my Balikbayan friends and relatives are here, I treat them or should I say; "pa libre naman, sa katakam takam na lugar!"
Philippines, is extra spectacular in terms of delectable cuisine or even exotic foods. How can I forget my dear grandmother's way of traditional cooking, from her unforgettable  Ilocano Pinakbet to Tinolang Manok and also I remember the "pasalubong" of my mother who used to take out "dinuguan, igado or nilagang baka from a  nearby Carinderia in my hometown Bauang, or the sweet halo-halo along the streets. Reminiscing those days are fun, but now, food business are booming! and anywhere you go here in the Philippines, there's always a place where you can dine, with any Filipino dishes you wish for.
Gutom kana ba? Halika at pagsaluhan natin ang mga pagkaing Pinoy!
