Let Puerto Princesa Underground River Be In # 1 of Seven New Wonders of Nature

Tourists love to visit the subterranean river and explore the vast galleries inside the cave with a magnificent view of natural formations. In 1999, Puerto Princesa Undergound River in Palawan was declared as a World Heritage site by the UNESCO and as a National Geological Monument in 2003. No wonder, it is also nominated in the 7 New Wonders of Nature. From the start of campaign for Seven New Wonders of Nature, in 2007, there were 440 sites nominated, then the lists was narrowed down to 77 entries, and it was trimmed down to 28 finalists. And Filipinos are so proud because among that 28 finalists, is the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) in Palawan. Our Philippine government, has launched a nationwide campaign that calls on local government units to work together and urging everyone to help them to put PPUR among the new Seven Wonders of the World. The rest of the country would also benefit if PPUR will be listed in seven because it will definitely a big bang in our country's tourism.
